Responsibilities of the Software Engineer
As a Software Engineer at IBM, you will:
- Manage Code Lifecycle:
Oversee the full lifecycle of code changes from development to deployment, including code reviews, testing, and operations. - Open-Source Tools:
Utilize various open-source tools for instrumenting, monitoring, alerting, and debugging production services. - On-Call Rotations:
Participate in on-call rotations with other team members to maintain uptime of services out of hours. - Architectural Discussions:
Engage in architectural discussions and help shape the future of IBM’s services, aiming for best-in-class experiences for IBM development teams. - Cloud Infrastructure:
Stay updated on the latest technologies and methodologies with a focus on Cloud infrastructure (VPC, Kubernetes/OpenShift, Istio, Akamai, etc.). - End-User Support:
Provide exceptional end-user support, collaborating with development teams to understand their needs and optimize build processes.
Eligibility Criteria
To be eligible for the Software Engineer role at IBM, candidates should meet the following criteria:
- Education:
BE/B.Tech in Computer Science or Information Science. - Academic Performance:
Minimum 70% in the current degree with no standing backlogs. - Required Skills:
- Strong coding skills in one or more programming languages such as Golang, C++, Java, Python.
