Position Summary:
As a Software Engineer I in the Digital Platform Engineering (DPE) group, you will get to build and manage important projects for Thermo Fisher Scientific’s e-commerce platforms. Your job? Turning business needs into efficient, high-performing code using Python and similar tools. You’ll work on web applications that interact with many different systems, like Content Management Systems (CMS), Product Information Management (PIM), Middleware, and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP).
Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and keep web applications up-and-running using Python & frameworks like Django, Flask, or FastAPI.
Work closely with other teams to create solid web solutions.
Build web applications and APIs that can scale well.
Make sure everything runs smoothly—optimize for top performance!
Blend web frameworks and libraries into current systems.
Turn business needs into practical tech solutions.
Keep documentation nice & clear for applications and systems.
Review code to stick to coding standards.
Spot & fix technical issues quickly.
Stay updated with the latest trends in web development & Python programming.
Requirements:
0-2 years of real-world experience as a Python Developer.
Good skills in Python programming & its libraries.
Hands-on knowledge with web frameworks like Django, Flask, or FastAPI.
Great at designing & creating RESTful APIs and web services.
Know about SQL and NoSQL databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or MongoDB.
Familiar with version control tools like Git.
Understanding of how AWS cloud works for deploying web apps.
Strong problem-solving skills + attention to detail!
Good communication skills & teamwork ability.
Can thrive in a fast-paced environment!
