Key Responsibilities
As a Database Administrator at Zebra Technologies, you’ll handle many important tasks to keep our database systems running smoothly and securely. Your main responsibilities include:
Database Management: Help with installing, configuring, and managing Zebra’s Progress database-based applications along with other SQL Server databases.
Support and Maintenance: Do day-to-day support tasks like database backups and recovery to make sure everything runs well.
Performance Optimization: Assist in tuning databases and applications for top performance while working with senior DBAs on more complex stuff.
Security and Integrity: Set up and keep security protocols going under the guidance of the DBA Manager or senior DBAs.
Project Collaboration: Collaborate closely with teams to understand what they need and offer database solutions for projects.
Innovation: Spot new ways to automate regular tasks and improve database operations.
Customer Interaction: Work with internal and external customers to fix system issues and look for ways to enhance them—with help from senior DBAs if needed.
Qualifications & Experience
To do well in this role, you should have:
A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (Graduate degree preferred)
0-2 years of experience in Database Administration, and some knowledge of database tools is nice.
Experience with Progress and MSSQL Server is favored.
Strong problem-solving skills & a proactive attitude are great! Can work alone or as part of a team.
Experience in fast-paced environments is a plus. Good communication skills are essential!
Competency in MS Office and other PC-based tools is needed.
